There is a significant opportunity to improve patient understanding of health inputs, outcomes and medical results through communications design and technology.
For many patients, especially those with chronic lifestyle-related conditions, the factors contributing to their health outcomes are manifold. This challenge is compounded by opaque medical documentation and communications.
E-learning technologies exist which adjust to user level of understanding and introduce gradually more sophisticated concepts over time. A collaboration between medical personnel and creative technologists to develop a platform for patients to understand their conditions and access granular behavioral information over time could greatly improve health outcomes for a large set of the population.
