Quality of POC Diagnostics Reports

By Peter Daley | 21 Mar, 2018

We published a survey of quality of design and reporting of studies of Point Of Care diagnostics for respiratory infections. We find poor compliance with published reporting guidelines. We encourage authors to improve the quality of reports, and we encourage journals to avoid publishing reports which do not comply with reporting guidelines. Diagnostic studies funded by diagnostics companies may use biased designs to falsely elevate test performance.
