Guidelines for Optimizing the HIV Care Continuum

By Jose Zuniga | 03 Nov, 2015

Good afternoon.

I wish to draw your attention to the new IAPAC Guidelines for Optimizing the HIV Care Continuum for Adults and Adolescents, which were e-published yesterday (November 2, 2015) and will appear in a November 2015 JIAPAC supplement.

The guidelines feature 36 evidence-based recommendations to optimize the HIV care environment; increase HIV testing and linkage to care, treatment coverage, engagement/retention in care, and viral suppression; and monitor the HIV care continuum based on a standardized metric.

The peer-reviewed guidelines were developed by a multidisciplinary, international advisory panel that included PLHIV, clinicians, researchers, public policy experts, health systems experts, etc.

Thank you Jose for sharing the guidelines.
Treatment as prevention is the way to go. There is no other way to meet the 90-90-90 targets by 2020. Hopefully more resources will be made available for resource limited settings and more countries will be adopting those recommendations.

Thank you very much, this is quite useful!

Let's work together to meet these targets.
