Searching for a global health nurse working in Haiti

By Anne Tiamson | 07 Apr, 2014

I am a student nurse taking global health nursing at the University of Maryland. I am working on a group project that requires us to interview global health nurses and their organization. Our topic is HIV in Haiti. We would love to have the opportunity to interview global health nurses to get a better understand their work and commitment to make a global difference.

Thanks you,
Anne Tiamson

Anne, you might look up Kristy Engel. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner who serves in the Domincan Republic at Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romano. You can find her on the web if you write "Kristy Engel Good Samaritan Hospital Dominican Republic." She has served in Haiti and continues to serve Haitians who work in the sugar cane fields of the DR. A group of 6 NP students and I worked with her and others in 2011 for a week partenering with Good Samaritan Hospital and Christian Medical Mission. She is a dynamo and doing incredible work there!
