Announcement -- UCSF Global Health-Hospital Medicine Fellowship

By Phuoc Le | 18 Aug, 2013

Dear Colleague,

We are excited to announce that the Division of Hospital Medicine at UCSF is now accepting applications for our one-year Fellowship in Global Health-Hospital Medicine. Intended for recent graduates or senior residents in Internal Medicine or Med-Peds, the fellowship aims to train global health leaders who plan on pursuing a career in academic hospital medicine. Fellows will participate in a rigorous global health curriculum, attend on the teaching wards at UCSF, and spend up to 7 months in the field at one of our partner sites (Haiti or Liberia) working alongside local colleagues to improve health service delivery.

We are now accepting applications and will interview in November/December, 2013 for positions starting July 1, 2014.

Phuoc V. Le, MD, MPH, DTM&H

Not to sound like a broken record, I'm wondering if UCSF is also planning a similar fellowship in global health for nurses. I've been pleased to see the recent opportunities for physicians at the University of Florida, Boston Children's Hospital and now UCSF. As a UCSF-trained family nurse practitioner, I would love the opportunity to also be able to participate. Thank you so much for your consideration.
