HPV distribution in invasive cervical cancer in SSA and interlikage with HIV

By Ziad Khatib Moderator Emeritus | 04 Dec, 2012

Dear NCDs members,
An elegant ecologic study, by Ndiaye C et.al. They reported the HPV distribution in invasive cervical carcinoma (ICC) in Mali and Senegal. Then they did compare HPV types among different countries in sub-Saharan African (SSA).

This paper contributes to the understanding of HPV, cervical cancer in relation to HIV. It paves the way to different questions for the prevention of cervical cancer.

I invite the esteemed health practitioners and researchers to share their reflections/experiences in this field. HPV and cervical cancer has a major burden on women's health in limited-resource settings and the more we share information about it the better to understand how to face it.

Best regards,
Ziad
