Hi!How can we minimize the surgical wound in c- section except prophylactic antibiotics? And pain management after surgery except ketorolac and pethidine?

At least in my institution we clean skin with chlorhexidine based solutions, avoid shaving and use clippers, maintain a high oxygen concentration and use monofilament suture like monocryl. As for pain, we try to use epidurals or combines spinal epidurals. If not available we turn turn to opiods (morphine, fentanyl).

In my view the crucial point is that antibiotics have a much less role than other physical measures like those suggested by Ricardo

muscle relaxation during surgery and surgical trauma might also play a
role in wound infection .

What about time of surgery? Three hour total hip vs hour and half? Also increased blood sugar?
