Professor Gonzo Manyasi has been a lecturer and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK). He is an Associate Professor in Clinical Biology with a Masters and PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London (1983 and 1987 respectively).
Apart from the Packard Western Kenya (PWK) Project on Family Planning issues, he has also led Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH)-related research in the amelioration of post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) cases through the use of the Bakri Balloon tamponade. Professor Manyasi has served as a Co-PI for the projects.
His academic experience includes teaching and supervising students’ research projects in areas that include HIV and reproductive health and youth programmes in addition to programme management that spans some three decades.
