Bio

Karla Thornton, MD, MPH is a Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She serves as the Associate Director of Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes). Her clinical expertise is in the treatment of Hepatitis C and HIV and she facilitates the HIV and Hepatitis C teleECHO clinics. She also runs a Hepatitis C focused prison peer education program in the New Mexico state prison system.
