Dr. Rodriguez-Fernandez is the Program Director of Public Health for International SOS in Papua, Indonesia and the Global Technical Lead for International SOS's Worldwide NCD Delivery Project. He also currently serves as the Executive Director of the NCD Asia Pacific Alliance.
Prior to his current role he served as an advisor to WHO, USAID, the World Bank, the European Commission, as well as Ministries of Health in Latin America, Africa, Europe, Central Asia and South- East Asia in the areas of health system strengthening and Non Communicable Disease (NCDs) prevention. He has led efforts to improve access to cardiovascular care through the design of National Master Plans for the decentralization of NCD related services within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region via the World Bank. While at WHO, Dr. Rodriguez-Fernandez employed his epidemiological and tactical skills and unwavering commitment to NCD prevention to draft the WHO Regional Office for Europe landmark 2012 mapping of national policies to reduce sodium consumption for cardiovascular disease prevention.
