Bio

Physician executive with global experience in healthcare I.T. and life-sciences informatics. 10 years of clinical practice. Over 25 years of experience with software development, implementation, technology marketing, management, strategic consulting, and education. Onsite engagements in 23 developed and developing countries.

Informatics career developed rapidly from Senior Programmer-Analyst to Director of Applications at Boston Children’s Hospital; Chief Information Officer at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center; Semantic Integration Team Leader for SAIC at Kaiser Permanente; from medical sales support to VP Demo System Group and VP Advanced Research at Eclipsys; Senior Healthcare Strategist and manager of Global Mobile Point of Care campaign at Intel.

Prior academic appointments at IBM Haifa Scientific Center, Weizmann Institute, Harvard, UMass, and Emory. Presently Visiting Professor at the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Rwanda.

Serving and served on advisory boards and professional committees in the private and public sectors. Formerly Co-PI on ARPA National Academic Medical Centers Information Collaborative (NAMCIC), and Raytheon Clinical Event Monitor. Inventor-owner of U.S. patent on component-based object-relational database infrastructure and user interface.

Published, presented, and led workshops around the world on diverse topics relating to healthcare I.T. and life-sciences informatics in industry, academia, public sector, marketing and sales events, and customer engagements.
