After obtaining a doctorate in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Fez in Morocco, Dr HOUNDENOU completed a Masters (MSc) in Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of Clermont-Ferrand in France. He then joined the organization CReCES as a research assistant, conducting research on STIs, HIV/AIDS, and a study of the behavioral and psychosocial effects of these infections on adolescents in developing countries. In 2009, Dr. HOUNDENOU began working toward his PhD in Public Health at the University of Montreal and was recruited as a scholarship student at the Strategic Training Program in Transdisciplinary Research on public health interventions funded by the Research Network on Population Health of Quebec (RRSPQ) and the Institute of Health Research (CIHR). In 2010, he joined the Montreal Public Health Bureau and contributed to the implementation of rapid testing for HIV in prison settings. Currently, Dr. HOUNDENOU serves as the Medical Director for HTH/AED-Lidaw in Kara, Togo
