I am a lead medical technologist working for an organisation called Namibia Institute of Pathology, a parastatal of the Ministry of Health and Social services, Namibia.
I have an Honors degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and I am reading for a Masters degree in Public Health with the London School of Hygiene. I graduated in 2002 at the University of Zimbabwe.
1. 2009 to date- Lead medical technologist (NIP)
Among other lab duties I co-ordinate and provide quality assurance aspect of Point-of-Care testing within the Ministry of Health in the region, and act as Lead Biomedical Scientist in relation to care of patients on Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART), TB and malaria patients.
2) 2008 to 2009 worked at International Training and Education Center on HIV, I-TECH Namibia.
While working for I-TECH, we raised HIV awareness among the army personnel, opened counselling and testing sites as well as their only lab and clinic.
3. 2002 to 2008 Principal medical technologist, Harare Central Hospital, Zimbawe
I was also a volunteer trainer of nurses and counsellors in HIV counselling and testing.
