The Organization of American States and the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, with the support of Medtronic and Medtronic Philanthropy, are pleased to invite you to a Conference on Non-Communicable Diseases: 'NCDs in the Americas: Awareness, Access, Action.'
The Conference will take place on the sidelines of the meetings of the Directing Council of PAHO, on Tuesday, September 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the OAS Main Building located at 17th St. Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, D.C.
It is estimated that approximately 250 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean live with an NCD. At the Fifth Summit of the Americas in 2009, The Declaration of Commitment of Port of Spain committed OAS Member States to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases in the hemisphere.
It is in this context that the OAS and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago have convened this Conference.
