Public Health Leadership towards Action on Social Determinants of Health.


A joint initiative between Asia Pacific-HealthGAEN and the Asia Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health - Early Career Network (ECN)

A Two-Day Workshop (13-14th October 2012)

at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) Colombo, Sri Lanka

Objectives
The workshop will enable participants to:
1. Understand the potential causes of and approaches to address health inequities, specifically in relation to the social determinants of health and in the Asia-Pacific context

2. Examine the role of public health professionals in action on social determinants of health and health inequity

3. Develop the skills needed for public health leadership in action on social determinants of health

4. Assess models of leadership relevant to action on social determinants of health


Target Audience:
Early career public health professionals working in various sectors (government, nongovernment, academia) who wish to expand further their knowledge of the social determinants of health framework as well as develop skills for public health leadership.


Cost:
The cost for the two-day workshop is USD 75 (USD 40 for one day). Payment can be made
o Online with a credit card
o Onsite cash payment (payment should be made in Sri Lankan Rupees, LKR)
